LA Flex Funding

LA Flex (Local Authority Flexible Eligibility) is a local authority grant scheme, aimed at helping UK households that are not in receipt of benefits but who are living on a low income and/or are vulnerable to the effects of living in a cold home, reduce their energy bills by installing various energy efficiency measures. This is a new government initiative to allow a more flexible approach to enable a greater amount of the UK to benefit from the Energy Company Obligation Grants (ECO) which previously were ineligible.

Local Authorities are now required to define their own eligibility criteria, via a statement of intent defining how they will identify eligible households. In many cases, these criteria have been extended beyond just income and type of heating to include illnesses, pregnancy, number of children, age of occupants and many more.
